How it began

In 2012, I was at Texas Instruments working on a FBAR requirement for US tax filing. It involved the same process across multiple bank accounts, statements fragmented across different folders. There were many such workflows that involved me being a data pipeline between systems that didn't talk to each other.

I wanted to do things differently. Since then, I became the Asia Automation Subject Matter Expert at Texas Instruments alongside my other roles to train other Finance teams on how we could automate Finance workflows in a F500 setting.

This mindset remained through to my role at Sprinto, where I lead Finance and Applied AI for Non-R&D teams. I rolled out ChatGPT Enterprise, deployed 10+ agents across Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR and Legal teams.

I realised that AI is THE transformational technology of our time. The need to be hands on with AI and at the bleeding edge led me to start Grainshift, Applied AI for the Office of the CFO.

For the longest time, Finance teams have waited in queues for their asks to be prioritised by internal R&D teams, SaaS vendors or other stakeholders who didn't understand their needs, urgency or business impact. No longer. Finance can rely on AI to cover the last mile, eliminate rote work and move up the value chain.

The name

A grain of sand can remain on a beach, get refined to become glass or eventually semi-conductors which power complex AI workloads. The difference is how much work has been put into it.

AI is similar. AI can be used across a spectrum of use-cases, AI can make a difference based on what problem AI is pointed towards and to what extent the full potential of AI is being tapped.

We can help you with this journey to turn compute to business outcomes.

Where these conversations usually start

  • Period close

Checklists, dependencies and status that live outside the spreadsheet.

  • Matching two sides

High-volume reconciliation across systems that never quite agree.

  • Cash and working capital

Receivables follow-up prioritised by the cash it actually releases.

  • Control environment

Approvals, review and auditability designed into the workflow.
